Item #294 is a large size mythological animal form using mica/micaceous clay. The item is all hand made hand built, hand burnished and hand painted using black and terra cotta underglazes. The item is an example of my mixed media approach within my clay forms using nails and metal. The mythological animal form is inspired from the Navajo origin story where animals were part of the Navajo emergence into this world. There are flecks of mica on the surface of the clay form.
